Convenience Store Issues:
- Cigarette Taxes have been climbing up so high in the state of New Jersey as compared to bordering states. Customer count in New Jersey has been declining and bordering states’ customers count has been increased due to increased cigarette taxes. AARA has been active to take necessary action to avoid further tax on cigarette. AARA team went to state house to speak to the senators & legislators as an industry representative to make them aware of the dater mental effect of tax hike on cigarettes.
Liquor Store Issue
- Currently there are several legislative floating and AARA is in a battle to save the independent Liquor Store Industry in New Jersey.
One of the major Bills that threatens the survival of NJ Liquor Store Industry is the ASSEMBLY BILL A-1702 for Direct Shipping.
